Rice Takes Sixth at AAC Championships

GREENVILLE - The Rice women's cross country team finished sixth out of 14 teams at the 2023 AAC Cross Country Championships, hosted by East Carolina. This marked the team's debut race in the AAC.
Taigen Hunter-Galvan led the Owls in the 6k race, finishing 17th with a time of 21:32.7 while Alex Gobran was close behind in 30th with a time of 21:54.7
Amelie Attenborough, Emma Hourican and Alisa Meraz-Fishbein all finished within 10 seconds of each other to round out the Rice scorers.
Tulane was the team champion, with three runners placing in the top five. The Green Wave's Gemma Rebollo won the race with a time of 20:39.2.
The Owls will be back in action on Nov. 10 at the NCAA South Central Regional, hosted by the University of Arkansas.
