Forbes Repeats as C-USA Athlete of the Week

Won individual title at Texas A&M Invitational
DALLAS – Rice junior All-American Grace Forbes repeated as the Conference USA Cross Country Female Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Forbes backed up last week's honors with her second-straight individual victory of the season by winning the Texas A&M Invitational 5k race with a time of 17:11.6. The win was the eighth of Forbes' career with the Wallingford, Pa. native running at a 5:31 pace and finishing nearly a full 10 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
As a team the Owls placed third overall in College Station and are currently ranked eighth in the most recent USTFCCCA South Central Region Poll.
The C-USA Female Athlete of the Week award is the sixth of Forbes' career at Rice.
Rice will next compete the weekend of Sept. 30/Oct. 1 with split squad action at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa. and the UIW Invitational in San Antonio.
