LA Tech wins 3-1
Ruston: Louisiana Tech struck for three early runs and held off a late Rice rally to down the Owls 3-1 on Sunday and complete the sweep of the weekend series.
The Details: Tech struck for two early runs off starter Thomas Burbank when Cole McConnell blooped a wind-blown double with two outs to drive in the first run and then come home on a single. They added a run in the third when Steele Netterville sent a line drive through the wind for a homer to left. Burbank and Matthew Linskey held the Bulldogs off the scoreboard after the third, but the Owls' offense was stymied early, unable to convert on several opportunities with multiple men on base. They finally broke through in the ninth. Austin Bulman led off the frame with a walk and advanced to third on a double by Guy Garibay Jr. Pierce Gallo drove home Bulman on a ground out to shortstop, but the Owls got no closer and dropped their seventh straight C-USA game.
