HOUSTON - Rice Track and Field heads to Birmingham, Ala. this weekend for the 2022 Conference USA Indoor Championships, which will run Saturday and Sunday at the Birmingham CrossPlex, hosted by UAB.
Championship action begins Saturday, Feb. 19, with the heptathlon starting at 9 a.m., followed shortly by the first event of the pentathlon. The first event on Sunday will start at 8: 30 a.m. beginning with the conclusion of the men's heptathlon. Both days will be streamed for free on CUSAtv.
The Rice men are currently ranked 10th in the most up to date USTFCCCA South Central Regional rankings and will have 27 athletes competing in 14 events throughout the weekend. The Owls currently possess the top marks by a C-USA athlete this season in the heptathlon and pole vault by freshman Grant Levesque (5499 points/5.25m), as well as the weight throw by Nick Hicks (20.74m).
