Blue Raiders Outlast Owls

The Lead: The Rice men's tennis team could not overcome a tight loss in doubles, dropping a 4-3 decision at Middle Tennessee at the Adams Tennis Complex in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Friday night.
Doubles: Jacob Eskeland and Daniel Warren picked up their second consecutive win at the second line, but the Blue Raiders grabbed the first point of the match with 6-4 wins at the first and third lines.
Singles: The Owls surged to a 2-1 lead as Sumit Sarkar and Eric Rutledge combined to lose just six games while picking up straight set wins. The Blue Raiders rebounded with a pair of wins to take a 3-2 lead before Adam Oscislawski fought off multiple set points to win in three sets, but the Blue Raiders won the decisive match on court six to pick up their third win in the last two years over the Owls.
Up Next: Rice wraps up the weekend in Tennessee on Sunday when they take on Vanderbilt in Nashville at noon.
