Rice Men’s Tennis Lands Four CSC Academic All-District Honorees

HOUSTON – College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its Academic All-District honors for the 2025-26 men's tennis season, with four Owls earning recognition.
Seniors Santiago Navarro and Yair Sarouk, along with juniors Petro Kuzmenok and Tommy Czaplinski, earned the honors for the Owls. Kuzmenok and Navarro were selected to advance to the Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 3, 2026.
Kuzmenok, a junior from Fairfield, Connecticut, holds a 3.78 GPA and majors in mathematical economic analysis. In singles, Kuzmenok finished the season with a 20-9 overall record and a 12-6 mark in dual matches while closing the year ranked No. 60 in the ITA singles rankings. In doubles, he posted a 25-4 overall record and a 15-2 dual mark, finishing ranked No. 42 nationally alongside partner Navarro. Kuzmenok was named the 2026 American Men's Tennis Player of the Year and earned All-Conference honors in both singles and doubles.
Navarro, a senior from Bolivia, holds a 3.84 GPA and majors in mathematical economic analysis. He was named the men's tennis scholar-athlete of the year. Navarro finished the season with an 8-13 overall singles record and an 8-9 mark in dual play. In doubles, he went 23-7 overall and 15-2 in dual matches, finishing ranked No. 42 nationally with Kuzmenok. He earned American All-Conference doubles honors.
Sarouk, a senior from Israel, earned a 3.71 GPA while majoring in business. He was named an honor athlete this season. In doubles, he finished 17-11 overall and 11-6 in dual matches.
Czaplinski, a junior from Orland Park, Illinois, holds a 3.51 GPA and majors in sport management. He posted a 13-7 overall doubles record and went 10-6 in dual play.
