Grace Forbes Named C-USA Female Athlete of the Week

DALLAS - Rice freshman cross country Grace Forbes was recognized by Conference USA as the Female Athlete of the Week following her stellar collegiate debut at last Saturday's Santa Clara Bronco Invitational, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Forbes, from Wallingford, Pa., placed third overall and helped lead the Owls to a third place team finish by finishing as the team's top runner with a time of 20:26 in the 6k race. Forbes joins senior teammate Khayla Patel as Owls who have been named C-USA Athletes of the Week this season.
Following the result, the Owls moved up to No. 4 in the USTFCCCA South Central Regional Poll. Rice now has their eyes set on the C-USA Championships, which will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2 in Bowling Green, Ky.
