IRVING, Texas – Rice sophomore cross country runner Lourdes Vivas de Lorenzi was named the Conference USA Female Athlete of the Week on Tuesday (9/11), the league office announced.
A native of Spring, Texas (The Woodlands HS), Vivas de Lorenzi led all Owls runners with a third place finish at last Friday's season-opening Norry Hersey Invitational with a time of 14:07 in the 4k race. The Owls would go on to place second overall as team, finishing behind only Texas.
