Owls Continue Road Trip, Face UCLA in LA
The Owls will look to pickup their first win of the season this Sunday when they travel to Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles to face the No. 23 UCLA Bruins for just the third meeting in program history. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. (CT).
Last Time Out
Despite a late comeback attempt in the second half, the Rice Owls women's basketball team dropped their season opener Wednesday evening at No. 20 Texas A&M, 65-54 at Reed Arena. The Owls were led in scoring by junior guard Erica Ogwumike (12 points) and senior guard Nicole Iademarco (11 points). Rice's bench outscored the Aggies (1-0), 18-2, and managed to outrebound Texas A&M by a 31-30 margin but were outshot 46 percent to 39 percent and had a 26-7 disadvantage in points off turnovers.
UCLA Scouting Report
The Bruins dropped their season opener at Loyola Marymount by a score of 69-63 Tuesday in Los Angeles. Four players scored in double-figures for the Bruins, led by 16 points from senior guard Japreece Dean. UCLA shot just 35 percent from the field in the loss, including a 5-of-25 (20 percent) effort from three-point territory. UCLA returns two starters and 10 letterwinners from last year's Elite Eight team that finished 27-8 overall.

The Owls close out their three-game road trip with a visit to Little Rock to face the Trojans on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m.
