Men's Hoops Closes Road Trip at Texas State

HOUSTON — Rice closes its three-game road trip this Wednesday, Nov. 28, when it travels to San Marcos to face Texas State. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be livestreamed by ESPN+.
Scouting Rice
• Rice is 3-4 after falling at Wichita State, 90-61.
• Rice has four players averaging at least nine points, led by guard Ako Adams with 14.0 points per game. The junior is connecting on 43.9% from three while also leading the team with 3.6 assists per game.
• Guard Robert Martin is second on the team with 12.1 points. The junior is connecting on 57.4% from the field and is fourth in Conference USA in three-point field goal percentage, connecting on 54.5%. He's also second on the team with 5.4 rebounds per game.
• Graduate transfer Jack Williams is scoring 11.0 points while leading the squad with 7.1 rebounds.
• Guard Josh Parrish is adding 9.1 points and is connecting on 51.1% from the floor. However, on two-pointers, he is shooting 70.4%.
• The Owls are scoring 76.9 points but are allowing 80.4.
• Rice is connecting on 46.7% from the field and 33.9% from three while allowing 45.5% from the floor and 32.3% from three.

• Texas State has won three straight games and is 5-1 after defeating Portland in the Portland Classic championship game, 91-68, last Saturday.
• Junior guard Nijal Pearson leads the Bobcats with 20.3 points per game and is second on the team with 4.2 rebounds. He is connecting on 52.3% from the field and 52.6% from three.
• Senior guard Tre'Larenz Nottingham is the only other player in double-figures, scoring 11.7 points.
• Senior forward Alex Peacock leads the team with 7.7 rebounds per game and junior guard Jaylen Shead is dishing out 3.8 assists per game.
• TSU is scoring 76.7 points per game while allowing just 57.3.
• The Bobcats are connecting on 47.6% from the field and 37.9% from three while allowing just 37.2% from the floor and 30.7% from three.
• Texas State is also outrebounding its opponents, 38.3-to-29.7.
• Head coach Danny Kaspar is in his sixth season at the helm of the Texas State men's basketball program where he owns a 79-89 (.470) record. In 28 seasons as a head coach, Kaspar is 544-282 (.659).
