Roman Gomez

Roman Gomez is in his first season with the Owls as their Strength & Conditioning coach, joining David Pierce’s staff in July of 2025 after three seasons at Texas A&M.
Gomez was the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Aggies baseball team that reached the regional final in 2023 at Stanford, and then advanced to the championship series of the 2024 College World Series. He assisted in developing 22 MLB Draft picks, three first-team All-Americans, and nine All-SEC honorees during his three seasons. In his lone season with the Equestrian team, the team reached the semifinals of the NCEA National Championship and saw five team members earn All-American honors, while six were named All-SEC.
He joined Texas A&M after serving as a strength and conditioning coach with the Baltimore Orioles at their Dominican Academy in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic. He assisted in the development of three All-Stars and four of the Orioles' Top 30 prospects for 2022. During his time with the Orioles, they were voted Major League Baseball's #1 Minor League Pipeline for 2022.
Prior to working with Baltimore, Gomez worked with Clemson University's Olympic Sports Performance department in the Fall of 2021.
He began his strength and conditioning career at EnduraLAB Strength + Endurance, working with endurance and high school athletes. Many of his athletes competed in marathons, ultra-marathons, triathlons, and mixed martial arts.
Before transitioning into strength and conditioning, Gomez played independent minor league baseball. Over the course of six professional seasons, Gomez pitched 304 innings with an ERA of 4.74, 224 strikeouts, and 100 walks. In 2016, he was awarded Pitcher of the Year with the Vallejo Admirals of the Pacific Association.
Gomez was a two-way player at Northwood University, leading his team to the school’s first and only NAIA World Series appearance and garnering All-Conference honors during his senior campaign.
He completed his degree at The University of Texas at Arlington and is now seeking his M.S. in Kinesiology - Performance Physiology and Strength & Conditioning (PPSC). Gomez is a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC, CSCS), Functional Breathing Instructor - Oxygen Advantage, and CPR/AED certified.
