Honors at Rice
2020-21 (Senior)
Posted a 5-2 mark in singles and 4-4 in doubles after returning to action in March… Earned All-Conference USA first team honors after moving into the national singles rankings (#100 at the end of the regular season)... Scored the Owls point in the NCAA Championship with a straight set win over Michigan's Jaedan Brown... Had missed the opening of the dual season while rehabbing an injury. Fall: Earned C-USA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Month honors in October after posting a pair of wins over opponents who were nationally ranked at the time the 2020 spring season was canceled... Raced to a 6-2, 7-5 win over Taylor Bridges of LSU, who was ranked 36th in singles last March, and combined with Michaela Haet for a 7-5 win over LSU's Nina Geissler and Eden Richardson, who ended the spring season ranked 26th... Finished the fall with a 3-3 mark in singles and a 5-1 mark in doubles.
2019-20 (Junior)
Spring: Finished the shortened spring with a 5-6 mark in singles and 5-5 record in doubles... Fall: Finished the fall 9-5 in singles and 5-5 in doubles… Reached the singles consolation semifinals of the ITA Texas Regional…Teamed with Diae El Jardi to reach the finals of the A Draw in doubles at the Contender CrossFit Islander Open while also winning the consolation bracket of the A Draw in singles… Close the fall by going unbeaten in three singles matches at the Longhorn Invitational.
2018-19 (Sophomore)
Finished with an 11-6 record in doubles, including an 8-3 mark with Michaela Haet… Pair closed the regular season winning their last three decisions… Currently ranked 57th in doubles… Duo set the early tone in the C-USA title match with a 6-1 win over 87th ranked Holly Hutchinson and Brooke Pilkington… Clinched five doubles points during the season Fall: Split a pair of singles matches at the Riviera ITA Women’s All-American… Opened with a 6-2 7-6 (4) win over George Washington's Maria Siopacha, then fell to Martina Capurro Taborda of Oklahoma, 7-6 (4) 6-2. Teamed with Michaela Haet to win the Rice Invitational Flight One doubles title… Duo qualified for the Riviera doubles, splitting two matches.
2017-18 (Freshman/Colorado)
Spring: Wrapped up her freshman season with a 20-13 singles record and 14-8 doubles mark. Her 20 singles wins led Colorado and her 14 doubles victories were third most. She played primarily the No. 1 singles position for the Buffs, going 8-10 at that spot. She was nationally-ranked three times during the season, including a season-best 106th on Feb. 7… Huang won eight consecutive matches again from Nov. 10 to Feb. 11, including the last five coming in dual matches… Huang picked up her first career Pac-12 singles win 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 over Mary Lewis from Arizona on March 9. On April 17, she earned her second win over a nationally-ranked opponent with a 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (5) upset of 52nd-ranked Julia O’Loughlin against Denver… In doubles play, Huang was strong early on… She won six of her first seven doubles matches with two different partners. Her first career doubles win came with Brigitte Beck as the pair defeated Yue Chen and Lauren Rich from New Mexico 6-1 at the CU Invitational. Huang and Annabelle Andrinopoulos reached the quarterfinals of the ITA Mountain Region Championships with three victories… After sitting out of doubles most of Pac-12 play, she returned for CU’s first-round match at the Pac-12 Tournament against Washington and paired with Oleynik for a 6-3 win over Angela Li and Alexis Prokopuik on April 25… Fall: Won the first eight matches of her career, going 3-0 at the CU Invitational to capture the championship with a win over teammate Jeannez Daniel in the final… Earned her first career win over Oklahoma’s Simran Kaur Sethi, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5 at the CU Invitational on Sept. 29. Won five matches to finish 5-1 at the ITA Mountain Region Championships, reaching the finals before falling to 71st-ranked Marianna Petrei from Idaho. In her five wins to reach the championship, she defeated 97th-ranked Claudia Herrero of Nevada in three sets in the quarterfinals and then upset top-seed O’Loughlin from Denver in the semifinals. She also captured the singles title at the San Diego State Invitational, going 3-0 in the tournament in early November.
High School/Juniors
Huang graduated from Meriden School in Stratfield, Australia in December 2016. She led Meriden School to four All Australian Schools Tournament during her time there (2012, 2013, 2015, 2016) and another runner-up finish (2014). A decorated youth player in Australia, she became the first Meriden player to compete in the Australian Open’s junior Grand Slam main draw in 2014. She has been a part of six different Tildesley Shield championship teams (2011-16), and won the event’s singles title in 2015. Huang added to an outstanding 2015 season, winning the gold medal at the International Sports Federation World Tennis Championship in Qatar, and earning honors as her school’s Sportswoman of the Year. She was a named to the All-Australian tennis team during her senior year.

Linda Li Huang was born December 31, 1998 in Sydney, Australia, to Jason Huang and Lili Zhang, who played professional volleyball for China. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach, shopping, hanging out with friends, and working out. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and is also a skilled pianist.
