Schwartzman Named CSC Academic All-American

HOUSTON – Senior Darya Schwartzman was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Third Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
Schwartzman becomes the first Rice women's tennis student-athlete to earn Academic All-America honors since 2018 and just the third in program history, joining the first honoree from 1999.
The senior from Israel, helped lead the Owls to their first American Conference Championship and earned All-Conference honors this season. She posted a 15-11 overall singles record, including an 8-8 mark in dual matches, while compiling a 15-8 doubles record with a 9-6 mark in dual competition.
Rice secured its first NCAA Regional victory since defeating Clemson in 2016, earning a 4-2 win over TCU in the Baton Rouge Regional this season.
