Rice Women's Tennis Earns Four CSC Academic All-District Honors

HOUSTON – College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its Academic All-District honors for the 2025-26 women's tennis season, with four Owls earning recognition.
Senior Darya Schwartzman, juniors Divna Ratkovic and Uma Bakaityte, and sophomore Francesca Maguina earned the honors for Rice. Schwartzman and Ratkovic were selected to advance to the Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 2, 2026.
Schwartzman, a senior from Israel, holds a 3.88 GPA while double majoring in psychological sciences and health sciences. She posted a 15-11 overall singles record and went 8-8 in dual matches while compiling a 15-8 doubles record, including a 9-6 mark in dual play. Schwartzman and partner Bakaityte finished the season ranked No. 59 in the ITA doubles rankings. She also earned a spot on the American All-Conference team.
Ratkovic, a junior from Montenegro, carries a 3.73 GPA while double majoring in economics and sport management. She was named the Rice Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year this season. Ratkovic posted a 23-6 overall singles record and went 17-2 in dual matches, including five match-clinching points for the Owls. She also compiled a 19-10 doubles record and a 12-6 mark in dual play. Ratkovic was named the American Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Player and earned all-conference honors.
Bakaityte, a junior from Lithuania, holds a 4.0 GPA while majoring in sport medicine and exercise physiology. She finished the season 14-14 in singles play, including an 8-10 dual-match record, while posting a 16-9 doubles record and a 7-6 mark in duals. She and Schwartzman closed the season ranked No. 59 in the ITA doubles rankings.
Maguina, a sophomore from Peru, carries a 3.83 GPA while double majoring in business managerial economics and organizational sciences. She posted a 24-10 overall singles record and went 16-4 in dual matches while leading the team with six match-clinching points. In doubles play, Maguina finished 13-12 overall and 8-8 in dual competition.
