Indoor: C-USA Indoor Female Track Athlete of the Year after capping an magical final indoor season by earning All-American honors by finishing sixth in the mile at the NCAA Indoor at College, Station in a school record 4:38.60... Also qualified for the NCAA Indoor in the 3000m, finishing 15th (9:30.08)... Broke the school record in the mile at the Alex Wilson Invitational Last Chance meet at Notre Dame... Finished in 4:39.86 to break the mark of 4:40. 86 set by Pam Klassen in 1988... Named the high point performer at the C-USA Indoor, scoring 28.5 points while winning three individual medals as well as a gold in the distance medley relay... Won the mile (4:49.45) and 3000 (9:40.16) and took a bronze in the 800 (2:10.97)... Won the mile in a personal-best 4:41.69 at the Texas A&M Invitational and finished second in the 800 (2:11.04)... Indoor: At the indoor conference meet, scored points for the Owls with a 5:00.23 in the mile and a sixth place finish... Also at the C-USA meet was lead runner for the distance medley relay that finished 3rd and recorded a season best 2:15.21 in the 800 m.
Cross Country: Placed 10th in the 5k at the conference meet, helping rice to a silver medal finish... Finished 5th at the Islander Splash in Corpus Christi for a Rice Victory over Texas... 9th at the Rice Invitational. 2005-06
Outdoor: Fifth-place finisher in 1500 at C-USA meet with 4:48.00 clocking... Set personal best of 4:34.97 for 1500 at Mt. SAC, and dropped 800 best to 2:12.11 at LSU Alumni Gold meet.
Indoor: Finished sixth in 800 at C-USA meet... Also placed 17th in mile at 5:20.38... Set 800 season-best of 2:15.34 in prelims at conference meet... Ran season-best 5:01.16 for mile at Seattle Feb. 11.

Outdoor: Ran 2:12.75 for 800 at Houston and 4:45.00 for 1500 at LSU for top times... Her 2:12.93 in 800 prelims at WAC failed to advance... Joined Rice[apos]s track and field team after appearing in 21 games for the Owl soccer team in the fall... Reserve forward who helped the squad to a record-setting 14-win season and the program[apos]s first-ever trip to the NCAA tournament... Registered three assists on the season... Matched the school record with two assists in 4-0 win over North Texas.

Won the SPC cross country championship as a freshman in 2000... Was also recruited by Wake Forest and Tulane for soccer and Columbia for track and field... Graduated cum laude and was a member of the honor roll for four years.
Personal - Full Name: Eleanor Marguerite Waite. Born: Feb. 4, 1986, at Paisley, Scotland. Parents: Barry and Christina Waite of Austin (four sisters). Father was a member of the U.S. National Rugby team in 1976. Sister, Katie, ran track and cross country at Rice (1998-2003).
