CJ (Craig) Cole joined Scott Abell’s staff in February of 2025 as a graduate assistant working with the Owls’ special teams after completing his playing career at West Virginia.
Originally a walk-on at WVU, Cole earned a scholarship before his final season in 2024 and was named a team captain that same year. He saw action in 37 games with the Mountaineers including all 13 in each of the last two years. IN 2023, he was named the recipient of the Tommy Nickolich Award, which is presented annually to WVU’s most outstanding walk-on.
He graduated from West Virginia in the spring of 2024 with a 4.0 GPA while majoring in Sport Management.
