Honors at Rice
2022: Appeared in 35 games (32 starts), all of them in center… Closed the season strongly, hitting .319 in his last 11 games with all four of his home runs and 11 of his 18 RBI on the season… Surge began at Charlotte on 5/7 where he set career-highs for hits (4), runs (3), home runs (2) and RBI (5)… Homers were his first in over a year and the second, which drew the Owls to within one at 14-13, was measured by StatCast at 466 feet… Also homered against Houston in the third game of the Silver Glove Series as part of a 3x5 effort that also included two doubles and at FIU to key a win in the first game of the Owls first C-USA road sweep since 2019… Hit .500 (4x8) with two doubles, a homer and scored four runs vs. Houston to earn a spot on the All-Silver Glove Series team.
2021: Led the team with a pair of triples while hitting .240 in 31 starts (all in centerfield)… Tied for the team lead with a nine-game hitting streak late in the season to raise his average from .194 to .263… Hit .310 during his streak (13x42) while also driving in 10 runs… Slugged his first career home run at Louisiana on 2/26 and homered in back-to-back games at Texas State (3/17) and Southern (3/19)… Drove in four vs. Southern on 3/19 for his single-game high.
Prior to Rice- Joined the Owls in 2021 from the University of Mississippi, where he gained a redshirt year in his debut season of 2020… A 2019 graduate of Niceville High School (Fla.), where he was named First Team PerfectGame Preseason All-Region and Florida All-Star his senior year... Multi-year letterman for head coach Rod Taylor… Followed a .438 batting average as a junior by hitting .435 with team MVP honors as a senior… Totaled 67 RBI, 12 doubles, 13 triples, and nine home runs in prep career… Rated as the No. 27 prospect, and No. 9 shortstop, in the nation by PerfectGame.
