Hayes Named American Honorable Mention

IRVING – Rice women's basketball senior center Shelby Hayes collected another conference recognition, being named American Conference Honorable Mention, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Hayes led the Owls to a 2-0 week, featuring wins over UAB and at North Texas. Hayes collected 18 points and 12 rebounds for her third double-double of the season in Rice's win over UAB.
Hayed added 10 points, five rebounds, two steals and an assist on the road against the Mean Green. Hayes finished the week with a 11-of-20 (55%) shooting display from the floor.
Rice (15-3, 5-0 American) seeks its 11th consecutive win Tuesday night at Tulsa.
