American Opponents Set for 2026-27 Women’s Basketball Season

HOUSTON – The American Conference has released the opponent pairings for the upcoming 2026-27 season, which features an 18-game conference slate, with six opponents played twice and six only once.

The Owls will host Charlotte, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Memphis, North Texas, South Florida, Temple, Tulsa and UTSA.

Rice will travel to East Carolina, North Texas, South Florida, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa, UAB, UTSA and Wichita State.

The Owls are coming off one of the greatest seasons in program history, highlighted by a program record 29 wins, 22-game win streak and the American Conference regular season championship. Reigning American Conference Player of the Year Victoria Flores and Sixth Player of the Year Louann Battiston return to lead the Owls, along with standouts Hailey Adams and Aniah Alexis.

Rice has already announced several games during the non-conference slate, including the opening weekend multi-conference partnership games against Murray State and Richmond in Richmond Va. The Owls will also host the Rice Invitational against UTRGV and Lamar during Thanksgiving week.
