Battiston Named American Honorable Mention

IRVING – Rice women's basketball earned another conference recognition, with Louann Battiston being named American Conference Honorable Mention, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Battiston powered the Owls past the 49ers with a career-high 20 points, on 7-of-13 shooting, with a 4-of-6 clip from three-point range. Battiston added two rebounds, an assist, block and steal in the win.
Battiston set a career high in the second quarter alone, scoring 15 of her 20 points in the stanza. This is the second time this season Battiston has led the team in scoring.
Rice (13-3) eyes a ninth consecutive win Wednesday when the team hosts UAB.
