HOUSTON – Rice soccer head coach Brian Lee has announced the additions of three new transfers as part of the 2025 signee class. Eileen Albers (Radford), Olivia Duvall (Wake Forest) and Kenzie Solomon (Georgia) are all set to join the Owls for the upcoming season.
"In the last five years, we have brought 12 transfers into the program. All 12 became starters, six were named all-conference, and three claimed league player of the year awards," Lee said. "Our three transfers for the fall of 2025 have the ability to make the same level of impact. Kenzie joins Kirsten Ruf, Megan Sweeney and Sam Walker to form a talented and deep goalkeeping cadre. Olivia arrives from national finalist Wake Forest with a chance to make an impact on our front line immediately. Eileen joined us in January and benefited from a strong spring to clearly establish she will be one of the top attackers in the AAC next fall."
Albers (junior/forward) joins the Owls after two seasons at Radford, where she emerged as one of the top scorers in the Big South Conference. A 2024 All-Big South First Team selection last year, Albers finished the season ranked fourth in goals scored (seven), fourth in points (17) and fifth in shots on goal (22). Her freshman campaign earned her Big South Freshman of the Year, All-Freshman Team and All-Big South First Team honors. Albers finished the 2023 season ranked in the top five in the Big South in goals (six), game-winning goals (three) and shots on goal (19).
Duvall (graduate student/forward) arrives to South Main after spending her undergraduate career with the Demon Deacons. She appeared in 21 games over her first three seasons, not making an appearance in her senior season. Duvall scored two goals in her career, and during the 2023 season, helped Wake Forest go unbeaten at home for the first time since 2007. Duvall also played a role in setting the program record for fewest goals allowed (15) in a season. She played club soccer for ODP Region 1 Team and won the State Cup Championship.
Solomon (senior/goalkeeper) joins Rice after playing her first three seasons with the Bulldogs, capturing an SEC Championship during the 2023 season. Making two appearances during the 2023 season, Solomon made her debut against Southern Miss, making one save to contribute to a combined shutout. She was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll in all three seasons while at Georgia and was also named to the J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Honor Roll.
The trio joins Chelsea Cross, Jadyn Jaeger, Laurel Kelley, and Sam Walker as part of the 2025 signee class.
The Owls are coming off 12-6-2 season, reaching the AAC Semifinals, with Leah Chancey leading the team as the AAC Offensive Player of the Year. Coach Lee and his staff earned the AAC Coaching Staff of the Year.
