HOUSTON – The Rice soccer team played to its second consecutive 1-1 draw Sunday afternoon against Lamar at Holloway Field. Both squads move to 1-1-2 on the season.

How It Happened
Brianna Bogar and Ava Landstra got the Rice offense going early with several shots, but Lamar was able to strike for the first goal in the 19^th minute to take an early lead. Madeline Preusser looked to even the score a minute later, but Lamar's keeper was able to make the save. Rice trailed 1-0 at halftime.

After rattling off several shots in the opening minutes of the second half, a free kick from Mia Brumlow struck the side post and bounced into the back of the net for a goal to even the score at the 57-minute mark. Sloane Popov later had a chance to put Rice ahead, but her shot found the arms of the Cardinal keeper, as the game was played to a draw.
