
Zou, Boandl in Top 15 at NCAA Bremerton Regional

Bremerton, Wash. — Freshman Daniel Zou and junior Lukas Boandl are in the top 15 of the NCAA Bremerton Regional after one round.
Zou is tied for ninth-place after carding a one-under 71, while Boandl is tied for 14th-place after posting an even par 72.
Zou began the day with a birdie on the second hole. After four straight pars, he bogeyed the seven and eighth holes to make the turn at +1. After starting the back nine with a bogey on the 10th, he got it right back, birdieing the 11th. After two straight pars, he eagled the par-5, 14th hole, before closing with four consecutive pars.
The 71 was his 21st round or par or better this year.
Boandl opened the round with bogeys on the second and fourth holes. He rolled in his first birdie on the sixth, but gave it back with a bogey on the seventh, as he made the turn at +2. But he started the back nine on fire, rolling in birdies on four of the first five holes. But he bogeyed the 15th and 16th before closing with a pair of pars.
The 72 is his 21st round of par or better this year and the 37th of his career.
Florida's Luke Poulter and Kansas State's Cooper Schultz are tied for the individual lead at -4. There's a four-way tie for second-place at -3.
