Ratkovic, Schwartzman Earn AAC All-Conference Honors

IRVING, Texas — The American Athletic Conference announced its tennis postseason awards on Wednesday afternoon, with Rice earning two all-conference singles recognitions.
The women's team honors consist of 12 individuals (plus ties) as voted by the coaches.
Divna Ratkovic earns her second All-Conference honors after earning a 13-4 duals singles record and an 8-9 duals doubles this spring. She played at the No. 2 position all spring for singles, and played both the No. 2 and No. 3 positions in doubles, earning a 6-5 record at the No. 3 spot. Ratkovic also earned the AAC Singles Championship in the fall, earning a spot in the ITA Masters tournament.
Darya Schwartzman earns the first All-Conference honor of her career after earning a 11-6 duals singles record and a 15-6 duals doubles record this season. In doubles, she was ranked as high as 32nd with doubles partner Fernanda Martinez after taking down the then-seventh ranked duo from Pepperdine. Schwartzman played all season at the No. 1 spot for singles and the majority of the season in doubles at the No. 1 spot, earning an 11-5 record there, while earning a 4-1 record at the No. 2 spot.
Rice will begin the NCAA Tournament in the College Station Regional as a three-seed, taking on second-seeded and 32nd-ranked UC Santa Barbara on Friday.
