
Schwartzman Concludes NCAA Singles Appearance

ORLANDO — Darya Schwartzman concluded the fall season with an NCAA Singles Championship appearance on Tuesday.
The Rice standout took an early lead but ultimately fell 6-2 in the first set and 6-3 in the second to Vanderbilt's Mia Yamakita.
Head coach Elizabeth Schmidt said, "Despite the result today, we are so proud of Darya for qualifying for NCAAs. She put together a great fall, and there are a ton of positives to take from it. Overall, the whole team improved and grew this fall, and we are looking forward to the spring."
