Memphis: Memphis exploded for nine runs late to foil Rice's hopes for a sweep of the weekend series, as the Tigers won the finale 13-2 in seven innings on Saturday.

How it Happened: Hiram Bocachica Jr. was the catalyst for both Owls' runs. He walked to lead off the game, advanced to second on a single by Michael Zito, and then to third on a double steal with Zito before coming home on a sac fly by Landon West. Zito's single extended his hitting streak in conference games to 12. He opened the third with a double into the rightfield corner and scored on a triple by Zito to left center. Memphis scored once in the second and then took the lead with three runs in the third. The Tigers added nine runs over the final three innings to take the final game of the series.

Up Next: The Owls return to Houston for the first of two weeks without a midweek game. They will be back in the suitcase on Thursday and travel to Birmingham for a three-game series with UAB, April 25-27.

Notes

Rice fell to 24-13 all-time vs. Memphis, including an 11-4 lead in games in Memphis and saw its four-game conference winning streak come to an end.
Zito is hitting .355 in his 12-game hitting streak in AAC games (16x45).
Bocachica's two runs give him a team-leading 29 this season and has scored 18 times in his last 13 games, scoring at least one run in 11 of the 13.
Landon West's RBI in the first was his sixth of the series to increase his season total to 21.
