EL PASO – The Rice men's track and field team had numerous top finishes Friday at the Sun City Classic hosted by UTEP.
Cal Abdulky opened the meet by claiming the hammer throw title, while Juan Marais added a second title on the day with the discus crown.
Aryan Padaruth took the javelin title with a throw of 65.8m, with Augustus Henry right behind in second with another 60-plus meter throw.
Daniel Sowell was the runner-up in the shot put while Sultan Bakare finished third in the event.
