Men’s Basketball Hosts Wichita State on Senior Day

HOUSTON — Rice will honor six seniors when it concludes its regular season this Thursday, Mar. 6 against Wichita State. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be streamed by ESPN+.

Rice to Honor Senior Class
Before the game, Rice will honor seniors Kellen Amos, Alem Huseinovic, Emory Lanier, and Jackson Peakes, as well as senior managers Robert Cowan and Tyler Field. Senior Day festivities will begin at 6:47 p.m.

Scouting Rice
• Rice enters Thursday's game with a 13-17 record, including 4-13 in the AAC. The Owls fell at UTSA on Sunday, 84-56.
• Rice is led by graduate guard Trae Broadnax with 12.5 points per game and 4.3 assists, which is third in the American. He's also second on the team with 5.2 rebounds.
• Junior forward Caden Powell is second on the team with 10.3 points per game while grabbing a team-high 7.1 rebounds, tied for seventh in the AAC. He's also fifth in the league in field goal percentage, connecting on 58.5% from the floor.
• Graduate student guard/forward Kellen Amos is averaging 8.9 points and 3.8 rebounds, while adding 2.5 assists per game.
• Junior Denver Anglin is averaging 8.8 points. He is connecting on 38.9% from three, good for ninth in the league, and 79.5% from the free throw line.
• Fifth-year senior guard Alem Huseinovic is scoring 7.9 points and connecting on 37.7% from three.

• Rice is connecting on 42.3% from the field and 33.9% from three. It is allowing just 42.2% from the field, good for fourth in the conference, and 33.0% from three.

• Fifth-year senior guard Justin Hill is scoring 12.0 points and leads the team with 3.0 assists.
• Senior center Quincy Ballard is averaging 10.3 points. He leads the league in field goal percentage, connecting on 76.5%. He's also second in rebounds (8.8), blocks (1.8), and double-doubles (9).
• Wichita State is averaging 74.4 points per game while allowing 72.9.
• The Shockers are connecting on 45.3% from the floor but just 30.3% from three. Their opponents are hitting 43.5% from the field and 34.3% from behind the arc.

Rice-Wichita State Series History
• Rice and Wichita State will meet for the only time this year and just the fifth time overall.
