Boandl, Zou Lead Owls on Day Two of Cabo Collegiate

Cabo, Mexico — Senior Lukas Boandl and freshman Daniel Zou led the Rice Men's Golf team on Day Two of the Cabo Collegiate, played at Twin Dolphins Golf Club.
Boandl carded a 71 to sit in a tie for 18th-place at +1. It's his 16th round of par or better this year and the 32nd' of his career. Zou posted a team-low 70 to sit at +2, tied for 22nd-place. The 70 is his 13th round of par or better this.
Sophomore Reggie Zhu is tied for 62nd-place at +11 after shooting a 78. Graduate student Blake Benson carded an 80, tied for 65th-place at +12 and Jaivir Pande is tied for 67th-place at +13 after posting a 79.
The 76th-ranked Owls are in 12th-place at +25 after posting a 14-over 298.
No. 3 Arizona State leads the team tournament at -13, nine strokes in front of No. 6 Oklahoma State. Florida State's Tyler Weaver leads the individual competition at -7, one stroke in front of ASU's Michael Mjaaseth and Preston Stout of OSU.

"It was a tough day for us out there. We were a little off, which led to some doubles and a triple-bogey. It's easy to get out of position on this course with how undulating the greens are. We still have a shot at making a move tomorrow."
