Rice Moves Up on Final Day of Cabo Collegiate; Tops Top-Ranked Ole Miss

Cabo, Mexico — The Rice Men's Golf team had one of the best rounds of the day to close out the Cabo Collegiate. The 76th-ranked Owls shot a one-under 283 to finish at +24 in 10th-place, including ahead of No. 1 Ole Miss.
Sophomore Daniel Zou fired a 67, the best round of the day, to finish in 10th-place at -2, his second straight top 10 finish and his third of the year. The 67 is his 14th round of par or better this year, and seventh round in the 60's.
Junior Lukas Boandl carded an even par 71 to finish at +1, tied for 14th-place. It was his team-leading 17th round of par or better this year, and the 33rd of his career.
Sophomore Reggie Zhu tied for 58th-place at +13 after carding a 73. Sophomore Jaivir Pande had his best round of the tournament, posting a 72 to finish in 62nd-place at +14, and graduate student Blake Benson shot a 79 to tie for 74th-place at +20.
No. 3 Arizona State won the team competition at -15, six strokes in front of No. 6 Oklahoma State. Arizona State' sPongsapak Laopakdee , Oklahoma State's Preston Stout, and Florida State's Tyler Weaver tied for the individual lead at -8.
