Men’s Golf in Seventh at Louisiana Classics

Lafayette, La. — The Rice Men's Golf team is in seventh-place heading into the final round of the Louisiana Classics, played at Oakbourne Country Club.
The Owls are at +7, two shots behind South Alabama, after carding rounds of 287-296.
Junior Lukas Boandl is tied for 18th-place at even par. Boandl opened with a 73 before firing a 72, his 18th round of par or better this year and 34th of the year.
Senior Raghav Chugh posted 72-73 to sit in a tie for 23rd-place at +1. The 72 is his fifth round of par or better this year and the 40th of his career, becoming the fifth golfer in school history with at least 40 career rounds of par or better.
Sophomore Daniel Zou carded rounds of 72-75 to sit at +3 in a tie for 37th-place. The 72 is his 15th round of par or better this year.
Sophomore Reggie Zhu is in a 39th-place tie at +4 after carding rounds of 70-78. The 70 is his eighth round of par or better this year and the 17th of his career.
Sophomore Braeden Hoyt is tied for 57th-place and freshman William Johnson is tied for 75th-place. Hoyt is +8, posting rounds of 75-77, while Johnson carded a 78-83 to sit at +17.
No. 7 LSU leads the team competition at -15, three strokes in front of No. 24 Texas A&M. Louisiana's Malan Potgieter leads the individual tournament at -8, three strokes ahead of Texas State's Sakke Siltala, Texas A&M's Phichaksn Maichon, and LSU's Alfons Bondesson.
