Men’s Golf Tied for Eighth after First Round of Cabo Collegiate

Cabo, Mexico — The Rice Men's Golf team is tied for eighth-place after one round of the Cabo Collegiate, played at Twin Dolphins Golf Club.
The 76th-ranked Owls carded an 11-over par 295 tied with No. 17 Arizona and No. 19 Texas Tech.
Senior Lukas Boandl is tied for 17th-place at +1 after carding a 72. Freshman Daniel Zou and graduate student Blake Benson both posted a 74, tying for 33rd-place at +3.
Sophomores Reggie Zhu and Jaivir Pande are tied for 44th and 50th-place, respectively. Zhu carded a +4 75, while Pande shot a 76 to sit at +5.
No. 3 Arizona State leads the team competition at -8, five strokes in front of No. 6 Oklahoma State. ASU's Preston Summerhays and Preston Stout of OSU are tied for the individual lead at -4.
