HOUSTON - 48th-ranked Rice women's tennis knocked off 63rd-ranked Princeton on Monday afternoon at the George R. Brown Tennis Center, earning its second ranked victory in as many matches, as well as of the season. Rice improves to 10-4 on the year while Princeton falls to 7-5.

Doubles started in favor of the Tigers, where the duo of Bella Chhiv and Alice Ferlito were able to take court three over Allison Zipoli and Nithesa Selvaraj, 6-0, to take the first match in doubles. Rice responded on court one with a victory by 33rd-ranked Darya Schwartzman and Fernanda Martinez, 6-4, to tie doubles up. 80th-ranked Saara Orav and Francesca Maguina were able to claim the doubles point for Rice with a 7-5 victory on the second court.

In singles, it was all Owls, starting with Divna Ratkovic on the second line, dominating Chhiv to earn matching 6-1 victories in both sets and taking the second point of the match for the Owls. Martinez took Rice's third point of the match at court six with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.

Rice will get back in action on Saturday morning, when the Owls fly north to take on 62nd-ranked Columbia in New York. First set is set for 9 a.m. CT.
