How it Happened: The Islanders struck for three runs in the top of the first and added a single run in the second, two in the third and a solo score in the top of the fourth before Rice could break through on the scoreboard. Michael Zito opened the inning with a walk, and Hiram Bocachica Jr. followed with a single up the middle for the Owls' first hit of the night. Blaine Brown brought home Zito with a single to left. One out later, Bocachica scored on a sacrifice fly by Treyton Rank, but the Owls bats could not produce additional runs until the ninth after the Islanders had built the lead to 9-2. Pinch hitters Gunnett Carlson and Austin Eppley each walked with one out in the ninth, they moved into scoring position with two outs and scored on a single by Colton Green.
Up Next: The Owls will be off until Friday when they host HCU in a home-and-home series over the weekend. The series opens on Friday at Reckling at 6:35, then moves to Husky Field for a doubleheader on Saturday at 2 p.m. before concluding with a single game at Reckling on Sunday at 1:05.

- Brown was 2x4 at the plate with an RBI… He has hit in nine of 10 home games this year (.346, 14x 41)
