2025: Hit a career-best .250 in 34 games (23 starts)… Hit both of his home runs run back-to-back games vs. HCU, one at Husky Field and the other at Reckling Park… First homer was a three-run shot to give the Owls a 5-0 lead on their way to splitting a doubleheader on the road… Second came the next day at home and broke a 1-1 tie as the Owls won 6-2 to gain a split of the four-game series… Hit in a career-best five straight from 3/10-18… Hit .455 in 11 games coming in as a replacement and .324 in day games… Made his debut on the mound with a scoreless inning at UTSA on 5/17... Hit two Roadrunners, but erased the first with a ground out double play.
2024: Tied for the team lead with three pinch hits, fifth on the team with four homers, and second on the team with two, four RBI games during the season… Hit .600 with the bases loaded… Came off the bench to key the Owls’ sweep at South Florida, going 3x4 with a double and four RBI…Pinch-hit double cleared the bases as part of a five-run third vs. USF on 4/21… Added two singles and drove in a fourth run to tie his career-high for hits and RBI… Slammed a two-out grand slam in the seventh inning vs. HCU on 3/15 to put Rice ahead to stay 10-7… 3x13 in the series at Hawai'i with a double, his first career home run, and three runs scored.
2023: Appeared in 12 games as a freshman, making four starts in the outfield, coming in six times as a defensive replacement, and appearing twice as a pinch hitter … Collected all three of his hits, including his first career double, in a start at Middle Tennessee on 4/12Drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk in his first career start at Stanford in game two of the doubleheader on 2/28.
Prior to Rice: Three-year starter for coach Raul Garcia-Rameau at Strake Jesuit along with fellow incoming freshman Garrett Stratton … Unanimous all-state selection as a senior (3rd team as a junior) and a two-time All-District 23-6A honoree … Houston Chronicle All-Greater Houston team … Hit .376 with a .494 on-base percentage, a .792 slugging percentage, 57 runs, 40 RBI, 11 doubles, seven triples, and nine home runs in 125 at-bats, adding 14 stolen bases as a senior … Led Strake to a 29-12-2 record as a senior as the Crusaders reached the Region III 6A championship series after reaching the state semifinals in his junior year…Uncle (Chris Buckle) played baseball at Purdue… Paternal grandfather (Charlie Duffield) pitched in the St. Louis Browns organization… Maternal grandfather (Jack Buckle) played basketball at Texas A&I.
