Owls host Incarnate Word on Tuesday at 6:30
Reckling Park : Memphis made the most of its two hits, combining them to produce two runs in the second inning and then holding off Rice the rest of the day to take a 2-1 win on Sunday and sweep the weekend series against the Owls.
The Details: Rice starter Tucker Alch worked into the sixth and combined with relievers Ryland Urbanczyk and Tom Vincent to hold the Tigers hitless and scoreless over the final 7.1 innings, but the Owls could only cut that initial lead in half, scoring one on the bottom of the third. They loaded the bases with one out and Treyton Rank brought Max Johnson home with a sacrifice fly.
Up Next: Rice hosts Incarnate Word on Tuesday and Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Wednesday before wrapping up the eight-game homestand by hosting UAB next weekend.
