Reckling Park: For the second consecutive game, Stanford took an early lead and never looked back as the Cardinal dropped Rice 8-2 on Saturday to clinch the series.
The Details: The Cardinal took the lead in the top of the first, scoring an unearned run after the first hitters reached via walks. They added two in the second before breaking the game open with five runs in the sixth. Rice was held hitless until the fifth when Pierce Gallo slapped a two-out double to center. Gallo's two-out, two-run homer in the ninth prevented the Owls from being shut out at home since April 14, 2023 (1-0 vs. Charlotte).

- Rice fell to 3-7 on the season and 12-26 all-time vs. Stanford, which won its 10th straight in the series.
- The Owls turned a pair of double plays to give them 13 this year. They have turned at least one in the last eight games and nine of 10 this year. Their 10 double plays coming into the weekend ranked sixth nationally.
- Gallo's homer was his second of the year, tying his career high set in 2022 and matched in 2023.
- Jack Riedel beat out an infield single in the sixth and is now hitting .375 (9x24) at Reckling Park with all four of his homers and 10 of his 11 RBI. pair
- Karl Ralamb worked a career-best 2.2 innings and fanned a career-high three while holding the Cardinal scoreless.
- 16-year-old Jaelyn Kirby, whose parents tweeted about their watching the Owls 7-3 win over Sam Houston on February 20 from the room at Texas Children's Hospital, threw out the game's first pitch.
