Rice Golf Concludes First Round at Conference USA Championship

Texarkana, Ark. — The Rice Golf team finished the first round of the Conference USA Championship at Texarkana, Ark.
The Owls shot a 22-over par 310 to sit in eighth-place.
Senior Forrest Park leads the Owls in a tie for 26th-place at four-over par after carding a 76. Graduate student Jay Kirchdorfer and freshman Lukas Boandl each posted a five-over 77 to sit in a 30th-place tie.
Juniors Blake Benson and Rodrigo Martin are tied for 44th-place at eight-over par after each shooting an 80.
UAB leads the team competition at four-over par, one stroke in front of Middle Tennessee. Louisiana Tech's Lake Juban leads the individual tournament at three-under par, two strokes in front of North Texas' Vicente Marzilio and Gavin Clements of Middle Tennessee.

The second round begins tomorrow at 8 a.m. Rice will begin play at 8:08 a.m. from hole 10 and is paired with student-athletes from Florida Atlantic.
