Owls Finish Play at Hal Williams Collegiate

Semmes, Ala. — The Rice Men's Golf team finished play at the spring season-opening Hal Williams Collegiate.
The Owls finished in 11th-place at +6 after carding a 286.
Senior Lukas Boandl tied for 19th-place at -2, closing with a 72. It is his fifth top 20 finish this season and the 17th of his career.
Freshman Raines Watson posted a 71 to finish +2 in a tie for 35th-place. Sophomore Daniel Zou also carded a 71, tying for 44th-place at +4.
Junior Reggie Zhu finished at +5 in a 52nd-place tie after closing with a 72, and redshirt junior Henry Daly shot a 74 to finish +6 in a tie for 57th-place.
No. 13 Illinois won the team competition at -31, 15 strokes in front of Southern Miss. Nebraska's Rudy Sautron and Illinois' Ryan Voois tied for medalist honors at -15.

"We just dug ourselves too deep of a hole yesterday. Too many mistakes led to a lot of bogeys and a few doubles. It's difficult to be in contention when you are not cleaning those mistakes up from round to round. We have a little time to iron that out before we hit the road again."
