Boandl in Top 10 at Hal Williams Collegiate

Semmes, Ala. — Senior Lukas Boandl is tied for 10th-place heading into the final round of the Hal Williams Collegiate, played at Magnolia Grove Golf Club.
After opening with a first round 69, he began the second round with a bogey on the second hole. He rolled in his first birdie of the round on the sixth, then birdied the ninth to make the turn at -1. He started the back nine with a birdie on the 10th, and after seven straight pars, closed his day with a birdie on the 18th to finish with a 67 to sit at -4 for the day.
He has eight rounds in the 60's this year and 22 in his career. He also has 15 rounds of par or better this year, and 53 in his career to set a new Rice record.
Freshman Raines Watson is tied for 38th-place at +1 after carding rounds of 71-70. The 70 is his ninth round of par or better this year, and his 36-hole score of 141 is a career-low.
Redshirt junior Henry Daly posted rounds of 70-72 to sit at +2, in a 49th-place tie. The 70 is his 12th round of par or better this year, and the 19th of his career.
Sophomore Daniel Zou and junior Reggie Zhu are tied for 57th-place at +3. Zou posted a 69-74, while Zhu shot 70-73. The 69 is Zou's fourth round in the 60's this year and the 12th of his career, as well as his ninth round of par or better this year and the 30th of his career.
The 70 is Zhu's eighth round of par or better this year and the 27th of his career.
The Owls are in 11th-place at even par. They opened with a two-under 278 before carding a 282.
No. 13 Illinois leads the team competition at -24, seven strokes in front of Eastern Michigan. Nebraska's Rudy Sautron leads the individual tournament at -13, two strokes ahead of Illinois' Ryan Voois.
