Series finale at 11 a,.m. Sunday
Boca Raton: Ben Royo and Manny Garza homered but Rice saw its seven-game conference road winning streak end as FAU used a four-run seventh inning to win 10-7 and even the weekend series at one win apiece.
The Details: After starters Josey Jacob and J.D. McCracken worked a pair of scoreless innings to open the game, Royo broke the ice with one out in the third by slamming his sixth homer of the year—all in the last nine games. FAU struck for four in the bottom of the fourth, but Rice answered with two in the fifth on RBI singles by Drew Holderbach and Guy Garibay Jr. FAU matched those two runs with a pair in the bottom of the fifth before Rice re-took the lead with four in the sixth. Pierce Gallo opened the inning with a walk and Garza followed with his first homer of the year and his first in106 at-bats dating back to last season. A Holderbach double later in the inning drove in two to put Rice up 7-6.
