Boca Raton: Pierce Gallo matched his career-high with four hits and three runs, but FAU jumped on Rice early and never surrendered the lead on the way to a 14-4 win in eight innings on Sunday. FAU improved to 18-11 while taking two of three in the series while Rice fell to 14-14.
The Details: Gallo scored the Owls' first run of the day, coming home on a ground out by Ben Royo. He came home along with Connor Walsh on Aaron Smigelski's double in the third to cut FAU's lead to 5-3 and scored Rice's final run on a ground out by Jack Riedel in the eighth. FAU jumped to a 5-0 lead before Gallo's first run and added seven unanswered runs after Rice cut the lead to 5-3.
