Rice Golf Closes Day One of All-American Intercollegiate

Humble, Texas — The Rice Golf team closed the first day of the All-American Intercollegiate.
Freshman Lukas Boandl began the day with an 81 before firing a 71 in the second round to sit eight-over par and tied for 72nd-place. The 71 was his sixth round of par or better this year. Senior Forrest Park is tied for 81st-place at nine-over par after carding rounds of 82-71. The 71 tied a season-low and was his second round of par or better this year and the fourth of his career.
Sophomore Raghav Chugh is tied for 94th-place at 12-over par after posting rounds of 75-81. Graduate student Jay Kirchdorfer carded an 77-81 to sit 14-over par in a 99th-place tie and junior Blake Benson is tied for 107th-place at 21-over par, carding rounds of 79-86.
In the Individual Tournament on the Member Course, freshman Davis Byrd is tied for 23rd-place at 14-over par after carding a 78-80. Junior Rodrigo Martin is 16-over par in a tie for 28th-place after round of 76-84 and senior Thomas Bockholt III posted rounds of 79-83 to sit in 31st-place at 18-over par.
The Owls are in 21st-place at 40-over par after posting rounds of 312-304. No. 36 Louisville leads the team tournament at 10-under par, eight strokes in front of No. 14 Tennessee, No. 17 Kansas State and No. 29 Ole Miss.

The final round begins tomorrow at 8 a.m. CT. Rice will tee off from holes 17 and 18 with a group of individuals.
