In Brief: Rice hits the road on Saturday morning to face Lamar at the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center at 11 a.m.

The Owls: Rice fell to 3-7 on the season after falling to Tulane 4-3 last Saturday. It was the sixth time this year a match has been decided by a 4-3 score, with Rice posting a 3-3 mark in matches going the distance. Four of seven road matches have been decided by a single point (Rice is 2-2).
Lamar: The Cardinals are 7-5 this season and are coming off a 4-3 home win over Southern Miss last Monday. Rice leads the series 26-1 since 1987 and has won the last five. Current Rice volunteer coach Juuso Laitinen was a five-time All-Southland Conference selection while leading the Cardinals to back-to-back conference titles for the first time in over 40 years. He was a member of the Cardinals' 68th-ranked squad that defeated the 28th-ranked Owls, 4-1 in Beaumont in 2016.

Up Next: The Owls will be back on the road next weekend, facing Portland, #55 New Mexico and Penn in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They will close the 2023 regular season by playing seven of the final eight home matches prior to hosting the Conference USA Championship April 21-23.
