Non-conference Finale
The Owls head to face crosstown rival Houston Wednesday afternoon for the non-conference finale at the Fertitta Center. Rice will open AAC play on Jan. 3, 2024 at home against Wichita State.
Last Time Out
The Owls led wire-to-wire for an 85-59 home win over Prairie View A&M last Saturday. Jazzy Owens-Barnett led the Owls with 17 points in the game and was on of seven Owls to reach double-digit points in the game.

Historic Feats vs. HCU
Rice allowed only five points in the first half against HCU, marking the fewest points allowed in a half in program history. The Huskies' lone point in the first quarter also marked the fewest points scored against Rice in program history.
Fisher Tabbed for Preseason Honors, Owls Picked Third
Junior forward Malia Fisher was named to the 2023 Preseason All-AAC Second Team. Fisher, an All-C-USA Second Teamer last season, was second on the team with 11.8 points per game while leading the team with 6.3 rebounds per game. She also had a team-high five double-doubles on the season. Fisher had a career-high 22 points, including the game-winning steal and layup against Louisiana Tech. Rice was selected third in the team's AAC debut, finishing behind preseason favorite South Florida and last season's champion East Carolina.
