Doubles Teams Advance at Texas Regional

Lambrecht notches first collegiate wins in singles and doubles
In Brief: Freshman Marte Lambrecht picked up a win in her collegiate debut while all three of Rice's doubles teams advanced to the round of 16 at the ITA Division I Texas Regional in Fort Worth on Friday.
The Details: Lambrecht raced to a 6-2, 6-2 win over Houston's Sophie Schouten and was joined by Maria Budin and Allison Zipoli in winning their opening matches of the day before falling in the round of 32. Budin and Diae El Jardi, the tournament's top seeds, took an 8-3 decision over Shouten and Laura Silsane in their opening match in doubles and were joined in the doubles round of 16 by Lambrecht & Zipoli and Saara Orave & Federica Trevisan.
