Owls and Miners Game Moved to Thursday

First Thursday game at Rice Stadium since 2012
At the request of Conference USA, Rice's home game vs. UTEP, originally scheduled for November 5 has been moved to Thursday, November 3. Additional information will be provided at a later date.
Rice last played a regular-season game on Thursday in 2016 when the Owls opened the season at WKU on September 1. They last played a home game on Thursday when Rice opened the 2012 season by hosting UCLA on August 30, 2012.
The Owls open their 2022 football season on September 3 when they travel to Los Angeles and meet USC. The 2022 home season opens two weeks later when Rice welcomes McNeese State to Rice Stadium on September 17 and opens Conference USA play at Rice Stadium on October 1 against UAB.
Season tickets for Rice Football's 2022 season are now available for new season ticket purchases.
This season, Rice debuts the "For The Owls" campaign which features the first phase of modernization to Rice Stadium. Upgrades for 2022 include new chairback seating, the addition of Flight Deck Loge Boxes (limited availability), and a new south end zone scoreboard, among many other new features.
New tailgating options will be available for reservation in June, but fans can get a head start by purchasing or renewing their season tickets during the month of May. Any season ticket purchaser (new or renewed) through the end of May will be entered to win a Rice Owls Tailgate Party Pack that includes a season-long 10x10 tailgate spot inside of Tailgate Owley and up to $4,000 worth of tailgating food and beverage supplies.
