2022 Football Schedule Release Launches “For The Owls” Campaign

UPDATE: C-USA Finalizes Owls '22 Schedule
Conference USA announced its 2022 football schedule on Tuesday, completing the Owls fall slate. After opening with four non-conference games, including the home opener on September 10 vs. McNeese State, the Owls kick off their 18th season of C-USA football on October 1st when they travel to Denton to face North Texas.
The schedule release also launches the "For The Owls" campaign which features several integral components to say "thank you" to the Owls' loyal fan base. Fans can expect to see an investment in overall fan experience, including upgrades to the game day atmosphere and other stadium enhancements which will be finalized in the coming weeks. Best of all, season ticket members who renew their seats in 2022 will be greeted by prices locked-in at 2021 rates. Season ticket members will soon receive an email with further information on the renewal process. Those interested in new season tickets should fill out the season ticket request form.
The Owls open the 2022 campaign with a road trip to California for a matchup with the USC Trojans on September 3rd. They return to Rice Stadium to host a pair of opponents from the Bayou State, taking on McNeese State in the home opener (Sept. 10) and Louisiana (Sept. 17).
Rice closes out the non-conference slate at Houston on September 24th with the 41st Bayou Bucket Classic.
For the fourth consecutive season, the Owls will play their entire non-conference slate before opening C-USA play. After the conference opener at North Texas (October 1), Dunlevie Family Head Football Coach Mike Bloomgren's Owls play back-to-back home games featuring Charlotte (October 8) and UAB (October 22) before heading back on the road again to close out the month vs. WKU (October 29).
The Owls campaign through November begins at home with a match up vs. UTEP at Rice Stadium (5th). Rice will then play its final road stretch of the month against Louisiana Tech (12th) and Southern Miss (19th). The regular season campaign wraps up with the Senior Day finale vs UTSA on November 27th.
Kickoff times, promotional schedules, season ticket member benefits and incentives and the 2022 Homecoming date will be announced at a later time.
All Conference USA games are subject to date changes and some dates are expected to move in the coming weeks in order to accommodate national television. A schedule of televised games will be released at a later date.
Conference USA's 18th annual Championship Game, pitting the champions of the East and West Divisions, is scheduled for Saturday, December 3.
