Owls and East Carolina Set for 3 p.m. Kickoff

Rice and East Carolina's first meeting on the Pirates' home turf since 2009 will kick off at 3 p.m. (central) on October 10 with coverage provided on ESPN+. The announcement was made jointly by the network and the American Conference on Monday.

This will be the Owls' third trip to Greenville since 2009 and third overall in the series. East Carolina won the initial meeting between the schools, 41-28, in 2005, and the most recent meeting, 49-13, in 2009.

Rice leads the overall series 3-2, winning all three games at Rice Stadium, including a 24-17 win in 2023, which was the Owls' inaugural game in the American Conference.

The Owls open their 2026 American Conference schedule on Saturday when they host UTSA at 6 p.m. at Rice Stadium.

Rice will celebrate Space City Night, featuring a number of NASA-related activities prior to the game in Tailgate Owley, as well as other space-themed in-game elements. In recognition of President John F. Kennedy's historic 1962 speech at Rice Stadium, reserved seat tickets in several sections are available for just $19.62.
