In Brief: Rice takes on a pair of Conference USA foes this weekend in Denton Texas. The 71st ranked Owls open the weekend by facing No. 41 Charlotte on Saturday and return to face North Texas on Sunday. Both matches are scheduled for noon at the Waranch Tennis Complex.
The Owls: Rice enters the weekend 7-3 (2-0 in conference play) and ranked 71st in the latest ITA computer poll.
The 49ers: Charlotte is 10-2 and ranked 41st heading into a Friday meeting with North Texas. This will be the second meeting between Rice and Charlotte. The Owls won the only previous meeting in 2015.
The Mean Green: North Texas is 8-4 this year heading into the Friday match with Charlotte. Rice leads the series 10-5 and has won the last five meetings.
